Franklin College School is aware that international students need additional help to improve their English skills in order to meet the expectations of upper level Academic English courses like ENG 3U and ENG 4U.
Once a student arrives at Franklin College School they are given an English Placement Test, and based on their results we place them in one of the five English Levels.
Our ESL PROGRAM incorporates five levels of ESL, AO, BO, CO. DO, and EO. All five levels are taught in the same class and this allows our teachers to move students along the spectrum according to their own language development.
We have introduced the English as a Second Language Centre (ESL PROGRAM) as a way to work with students who require one-on-one assistance to build their confidence in both spoken and written English. The class sizes are small, between five to ten students; to ensure that each student receives the attention they need in order to succeed.
